The bathroom mirror at 34-year-old marketing coordinator Jessica Chen’s downtown apartment has reportedly been experiencing feelings of professional inadequacy after being consistently overlooked in favor of her smartphone’s front-facing camera for the past three months.

According to sources close to the reflective surface, the mirror has watched helplessly as Chen has taken an estimated 847 selfies this week alone using various camera angles, ring lights, and filter applications, while barely glancing at her actual reflection during routine activities like teeth brushing or face washing.

“I’ve been faithfully serving this household for four years, providing honest, unfiltered reflections without any technical difficulties or software updates,” said the mirror through a spokesperson from the International Brotherhood of Household Fixtures. “Yet somehow I’ve been relegated to merely checking for spinach in teeth while a tiny camera lens gets all the glamorous work.”

The situation has reportedly worsened since Chen installed a dedicated ring light in her bedroom, effectively creating what industry experts are calling a “professional selfie station” that completely bypasses traditional mirror-based photography. Chen’s bathroom mirror has since been seeking counseling through the Employee Assistance Program for Neglected Home Appliances.

At press time, Chen was reportedly unaware of her mirror’s distress, as she was too busy adjusting the brightness settings on her latest Instagram story featuring her morning coffee.
