After what he describes as “a string of miscommunications” on dating apps, 34-year-old Kevin Marsh has abandoned traditional profile photos and bios in favor of a comprehensive 45-minute PowerPoint presentation titled “Kevin Marsh: A Comprehensive Overview.” The slideshow, which includes a table of contents, three appendices, and a Q&A section, is reportedly sent to matches within minutes of a mutual swipe.

“I just felt like a few pictures and a joke about tacos weren’t giving people the full picture,” Marsh explained, gesturing toward slide 22, a pie chart breaking down his emotional availability by day of the week. “There’s a whole section on my attachment style, cross-referenced with my childhood pet ownership. I think transparency is sexy.”

Reactions from matches have been mixed. Local barista Denise Ferro said she made it to slide 14, a detailed flowchart titled “How I Handle Conflict (Decision Tree),” before deciding to “just go with her gut feeling from the bio, honestly.” Another match, who asked to remain anonymous, admitted she only responded because she was impressed by the citations. “He footnoted his own personality traits. That’s either red flag or exactly what I need in my life. I haven’t decided.”

Relationship coach Marta Djilas says Marsh’s approach, while unconventional, reflects a growing trend of daters over-preparing for a process that used to involve significantly less due diligence. “We’re seeing more clients treat first dates like shareholder meetings,” Djilas said. “Kevin’s just the first one to bring visual aids. Frankly, his retention rate for a second date, 12%, is actually above app average.”

Marsh says he’s already working on a revised version incorporating audience feedback, including a shorter appendix and a new slide addressing “the ex situation” with more nuance. “Round two will have a laser pointer,” he said. “People respond to confidence.”
